It is is one of Europes largest single tourist complex covering some 5000 Acres of land. The landscape offers great pine forests whilst others cover open recovered marshland. Vilamoura is one of those special places it houses a unique leisure and recreation holiday resort.
Vilamoura is ideally located and features a wide choice of prime accommodation, it meets all the requirements for a modern holiday resort catering for visitors everyday needs as well as bursting with sporting and leisure facilities for the whole family.
Designed from the start to be self-sufficient it is a great place for rest and relaxation but also a hive of activity for active pastimes and sports.  Vilamoura boast an enormous Marina that hosts some glorious vessels that are a sight to behold within themselves. Many a visitor finds the waterfront is an excellent location for a daytime or evening stroll or a light snack or meal in one of the many cafes and bars that are located either side of the marina alongside the sandy beaches.
There is also the option to book onto one of the excursions that leave daily from the marina, One such boat is the world famous Condor de Vilamoura, this runs daily excursions along the coast towards Lagos and beyond a truly magical experience.
If Big game fishing is more your scene then it should be known that in 1993 a boat chartered from vilamoura caught the world's largest recorded black marlin it weighed in at an astonishing 737kg and was over 3.65m long. It can be found on display at the dockside. For the sports enthusiast amongst you Vilamoura boasts excellent facilities including world class golf courses.

Victoria : The previous owners invested 18 million euro's in Oceanico's Victoria Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer, one of the greatest legends of the sport. This was the most ambitious golf project in Portugal, and was aimed at being one of the best golf complexes in the whole of Europe. (book online) |

Old Course : Situated in the heart of the Vilamoura seaside resort a mere 20-minute drive from Faro airport, this Frank Pennink designed parkland style layout is one of the oldest in the region and renowned all over the golfing world. (book online) |

Laguna : Laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones at the resort and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere. (book online) |

Millenium : This conventional Par-72 course opened in the year 2000, although the completely refurbished back nine holes - formerly part of the 27-hole Laguna Course - had been completed in their original configuration a decade before. (book online) |
